Program Description
This series of courses provides students with a broad range of knowledge and skills needed for welding and cutting metal, with a focus on Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW). Topics include basic metallurgy, filler metal selection, welding symbols and blueprint reading, and setting equipment parameters.

Accuplacer Next Gen minimum score: Reading 237 or (Reading 229 & Writing 237) or ESL Reading 102 or ESL 276 overall

To satisfy the English prerequisite for the program, students need to do one of the following:
- Take placement test and score above the prerequisite course
- Provide proof of completing college level English
- Meet one or more of the listed exemptions
